The Girl Party

Kaity invited some friends over on Sunday for her "girl" party. It was a blast (literally with the sound volume). We didn't do any games or anything. They just got to play, scream, and eat cake. Here's the entire girl group. Notice Will is NOT in the picture. He wouldn't get close to the gaggle of girls. He spent most of the party outside.

I had been planning to make her cupcakes for awhile and got a cool book, Hello Cupcake, with all kinds of pictures and directions. I made the Pandamonium cupcakes and they turned out pretty well. I only made 9 because they were pretty labor intensive, but they were thoroughly enjoyed by the party goers!

Kaitlyn is telling Kaity something here. It's a pretty funny picture.

I also made these little felt heart bags as goodie bags. It was the first time I got to use my new sewing machine and it was AWESOME! The bags turned out very cute and we'll probably reuse ours as valentine decorations.

On Saturday, Papa and Nana took Kaity shopping at Target for new dresses for her birthday. She picked out several being the fashionista that she is. I also got a very funny call from Papa asking where the tights would be. He never could find the right size, so she got pretty socks instead. While she was there, she spotted the yellow dress below. He already had his quota of dresses he was getting her so they didn't get it then. But, they did come back and get it as a present from Great Granny. It will be perfect for church and Easter. It's long and has poofy stuff under the skirt. She wanted to wear it to school today and I wouldn't let her. This will be a constant battle until she's too big for it. Notice the shoes she's wearing with it. Those would be the velcro hand toss game which apparently double as carpet shoes. She's got a great sense of style. It comes from the Eubanks side of the family.

Words cannot express my reaction to those shoes. I foresee interesting times in your future. Specifically around Kaity's teenage years...
